What Warmnest is

Warmnest is a free collection of bedtime stories for children, made to be listened to rather than read. Each story is sized for a single bedtime — long enough to settle into, short enough to finish before eyes close.

There is nothing to install. Open the site on a phone, tablet, or laptop, pick a story, and press play.

How our stories are made

Our stories are written and voiced with the help of AI. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you wonder.

But AI is the tool, not the editor. Every story is read and listened to by a person before it appears on the site. We check that the language fits the age it is meant for, that nothing frightening slipped in, and that the narration sounds like someone who genuinely wants your child to fall asleep.

Stories that do not pass that read-through are not published.

Made for bedtime

A bedtime story has one job, and it is not to keep anyone awake. Ours move at an unhurried pace, avoid cliffhangers, and end softly — the trouble is resolved, everyone is safe, and the night is quiet again.

The site is built the same way. Switch to bedtime mode and the screen dims to warm, low-contrast colours, so the last thing your child sees is not a bright white rectangle.

Safe for children

There is no advertising on Warmnest. Nothing interrupts a story once it has started, and nothing tries to sell your child anything.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Our analytics are cookieless and self-hosted, so we can count that a page was opened without following anyone around the internet.

Accounts are for grown-ups. A parent or guardian signs up; children simply listen.

Many languages

Warmnest speaks several languages, and the stories are voiced in each of them.

In your account you can choose which languages stories play in — one, or several at once, which helps if your family is raising a child between two of them.
